Things to Do
There are many things to do in San Pedro, Belize other than just lounging on the beach and enjoying the sun while sipping a local cocktail (although we highly recommend these activities). Ambergris Caye is the center of Belize’s unique marine activities where you can plunge into the warm, Caribbean waters and enjoy the diversity of marine life within Belize’s Barrier Reef.
Take your pick of ocean-based activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving, or some of the best fishing in the Caribbean. Everywhere you turn there are fun-filled days and nights in store in beautiful San Pedro, Belize! In fact, Madonna penned the song “La Isla Bonita” as an homage to our beautiful piece of paradise.
Relax Beachside
What’s a vacation rental in Belize without a beachfront patio? Take some time to unwind in your private home while overlooking the picturesque, white sands or go for a walk down the beach and enjoy numerous dining and entertainment options.
Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, grab a kayak or some snorkeling gear and take a quick dip in the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea. Take a short cart ride to the West side of the Island to the (now famous) Secret Beach and enjoy a day in crystal calm waters with bars and restaurants and even jet ski rentals.. Whatever you choose, the ease of access is real when you stay in one of the finest and most unique vacation rentals on San Pedro.
Explore by Land
Find yourself wanting to explore more of our Belizean culture? Take one of the many mainland tours departing from San Pedro. The ruins of Belize’s great Mayan civilization is a simple day trip away and, once planned, you can take your pick of over 20 sites – the most popular being Caracol, Altun Ha, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, and Lamanai. But to really take advantage of the full experience, we highly recommend taking a combined tour where you’ll not only experience historic Mayan sites, but also enjoy invigorating activities such as cave tubing; zip lining, or trekking through the rainforest!
Explore by Sea
Whether you’ve never stepped foot in the ocean or you happen to be a skilled diver, there are several opportunities for you to fully enjoy the warm, crystal clear water of the Caribbean Sea. Take an excursion to the famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve or Shark Ray Alley.
If you’re really looking for an adventure, take your pick from more than 30 world class dive sites located just outside the reef – two of the most famous being the Great Blue Hole and Turneffe Atoll. Fancy staying dry while enjoying the ocean? Take your pick of other ocean-based activities such as fishing, sailing, and even kayaking!
